PropTech is an umbrella term used to define technologies that can make buildings and property transactions more efficient, improve security, and lower building maintenance and operational costs while enhancing the user experience. Some of these technologies include software, hardware, innovative construction materials, big data, automation, the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality, and virtual reality. Hartford is becoming a hub for PropTech start-ups. Our colleagues from Upward Labs, which supports PropTech start-ups, will lead the conversation and give some brief demonstrations of ProTech in action.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the range of hardware and software applications that define PropTech.

  • Learn what opportunities PropTech applications create for architects to improve building performance.

  • Learn how PropTech technology can improve sustainability.

  • Learn how PropTech can improve air filtration to help prevent the spread of diseases like COVID-19.
